Substantial expansion works at The Ridgeway Primary School in Reading are now complete.
The Ridgeway is one of five primary school projects engineered by Gyoury Self as part of Reading Council’s schools expansion programme to address the growing need for school places in the local area. The building of two extensions has tripled capacity at The Ridgeway, creating a bright, modern learning environment for pupils and newcomers.
Gyoury Self provided structural and civil engineering work for the two new extensions.
One is a two-storey classroom block based on the standardised design used within the programme. The other extension creates a new school entrance and administration area, as well as a new hall, kitchen and dining facility.
The expansion works have increased the current number of school places from 210 to 630, with full capacity expected to be reached within the next 5 years.
