Meet Michael Gunning, the latest structural engineering recruit to join our Sussex team based in Brighton and Hove.
Originating from New Zealand, Michael was studying Structural Engineering at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, when the city was hit by the devastating 6.3 magnitude earthquake in 2011. Around 170.000 buildings were destroyed or damaged. Rebuilding the city presented a huge challenge, even for the most seasoned structural engineers.
Diving straight into the deep end after graduation, Michael swiftly gained experience working on a wide range of engineering projects – from structural repairs and strengthening, to the design and detailing of new build developments.
We are delighted to have Michael on board at our Brighton and Hove office, where he has hit the ground running. His commercial and industrial engineering expertise is currently being utilised on two recently acquired projects – the design of new build industrial units and a multi-storey car park.
We are delighted that Michael has joined the Gyoury Self Structures team. Michael’s appointment will further our commitment to delivering high-calibre, cost-effective engineering solutions for our clients.” Gavin Owens, Partner
