Construction is underway on the first of two new affordable housing projects commissioned by Rosebery Housing Association in Epsom, Surrey.
Five ‘traditional construction’ houses are currently being built on a garage in-fill site at Bahran Road. Due to the nature of the site, special care has been given to foundation design to protect the perimeter walls of neighbouring properties. With deep foundations now in place, the masonry walls and timber floor joists are in the process of being installed.
Construction of the second project – a residential housing block in Teddington Close consisting of six flats with associated parking and landscaping – will begin as soon as a ‘build over’ agreement has been finalised with Thames Water.
The new build properties at Bahran Road and Teddington Close were designed by The Seaman Partnership and are being built by Bramber Construction. Gyoury Self is providing full structural and civil engineering services for both housing developments.
Due for completion in spring 2018, the new properties will be a positive addition to the Rosebery Housing Association portfolio, which currently includes 2,200 affordable homes across Surrey and West Sussex.
