We are currently providing engineering services for an award-winning series of affordable housing projects in Croydon which will go to site later this month.
The four residential housing developments form part of the Small Sites Programme, one of Croydon Council’s initiatives to provide 1,000 high-quality new homes across the borough by 2019.
The Small Sites Programme is being delivered by the council’s own development company Brick by Brick, and the properties will all be constructed on small council-owned infill sites such as old garages, car parks, vacant buildings or infill sites on estates.
The four projects we are working on were all designed by Stitch Architects. Click images below to enlarge.
Gyoury Self has been appointed by the main contractor Osborne to provide designs for building substructures and civil engineering works. The main timber frame and SIPS super structure will be built by Innovaré, Osbourne’s award-winning offsite construction partner company.
The Croydon Small Sites Programme is already garnering interest for its innovative use of in-fill sites. Last year it won the Unbuilt Housing category in the New London Awards. These awards recognise the very best in architecture, planning and development in the capital, including both new and proposed projects across all sectors of the built environment, selected by an international expert jury.
