We are pleased to announce that we are providing structural and civil engineering services on the £15m phased redevelopment of the popular Haskins Garden Centre at Snowhill, near East Grinstead in West Sussex.
Phase 1 ground works for the main car park and temporary garden centre, which will keep the site in operation throughout the majority of the redevelopment, are currently underway. These works include underground drainage, installation of the below ground sub-base attenuation and tree pits, as well as the new site entrance Section 278 highway works.
The temporary garden centre will remain in situ until early next year, before making way for the final completed garden centre building, which is due for completion in Spring 2020.
Our engineering works include design of the structural foundations, below ground drainage and external works.
We will be working alongside Barnwood Construction and architects Roberts Limbrick throughout this redevelopment project which will expand the centre footprint by 20 per cent and create 70 new jobs in the local area.
Located on an 8 acre site, the revamped garden centre will be 11,800 sqm when completed. Improved facilities will include a 440 seat customer restaurant with outdoor terrace, a new large covered outdoor sales area, and a new car park with 346 parking spaces.
“We are absolutely delighted to be on track with the £15m redevelopment programme. Whilst it is a long-term investment, we’re confident that it will secure the garden centre for our customers for many years and be a good investment for our business.”
