We are pleased to announce that the £15m phased redevelopment of the Haskins Garden Centre at Snowhill, near East Grinstead in West Sussex is complete and the centre is now open to the public.
Gyoury Self provided structural and civil engineering services on the project. Phase 1 involved ground works for the main car park and temporary garden centre, which kept the site in operation throughout the majority of the redevelopment. These works included underground drainage, installation of the below ground sub-base attenuation and tree pits, as well as the new site entrance Section 278 highway works.
The temporary garden centre remained in situ until late last year, before making way for the final completed garden centre building, which was opened to the public on 10 March 2020.
Our engineering works included design of the structural foundations, below ground drainage and external works.
We worked alongside Barnwood Construction and architects Roberts Limbrick throughout this extensive redevelopment project which has expanded the centre footprint by 20 per cent and will create 70 new jobs in the local area.
Located on an 8 acre site, the revamped garden centre covers 11,800 sqm. Improved facilities include a 440 seat customer restaurant with outdoor terrace, a new large covered outdoor sales area, and a new car park with 346 parking spaces.
