The doors have now opened at our Lidl supermarket project at The Foundry Estate in Blundell’s Road, Tiverton, Mid Devon.
Gyoury Self was appointed by main contractor Soldi Construction to provide full Structural and Civil Engineering services for the main food store, as well as associated car parking and services. We worked on the engineering designs alongside project architects Roberts Limbrick.
The new store is located to the north of Blundell’s Road with a dedicated delivery bay to the north-east of the main building. The store extends to 2,125 sqm (Gross Internal Area) with a sales area of 1,325 sqm, including an in-store bakery.
The new site offers 190 parking spaces, including 6 disabled and 8 parent and child spaces near to the store entrance with an electric charging point serving 2 further spaces. Secure cycle storage is also provided.
Road access to the site is from the existing Foundry Estate entrance to the south west of the site. A landscaping scheme is in place to improve the visual amenity of the site including soft landscaping around the boundary of the site.
The store is part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn expansion and regeneration plans across Great Britain and marks the first store in Mid Devon. It is a major new investment in Tiverton town, positively contributing to the town’s economy and employment as well as enhancing the existing retail offer.
