It is with great regret but also warm wishes that we say farewell to Gyoury Self Partner Robert Pragnell as he heads off to enjoy his retirement.
A highly-experienced Chartered Structural and Civil Engineer, Rob joined Gyoury Self in 1987 and was promoted to Partner in 2007. The specialisms he brought to the company in his 33 years of service included surveying and carrying out detailed reports for the sympathetic restoration of period and historic buildings.
Rob also undertook a diverse range of new build/refurbishment projects; from prestigious residential schemes through to industrial parks and hospital extensions.
As head of our Fareham/Portsmouth office, he was responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of the engineering and technical teams.
Although Rob is looking forward to a well-earned retirement and indulging his passion for fast motorcycles, he will continue to be active in higher education projects; including guest lecturing at Portsmouth University and JBM Inspections at other universities.
The past 33 years with Gyoury Self has been an incredible journey. Over the years, I have had the privilege of engineering some memorable client projects. Along the way, I have worked with some great colleagues, contractors and design team members. Throughout my time with Gyoury Self I have watched the company grow from strength to strength. I have no hesitation in handing management of the Fareham office over to fellow partner Richard Ashton. He is an outstanding Structural Engineer and Project Manager, with all the skills and knowledge in place to take the Hampshire operations forward into its next exciting phase. Robert Pragnell, Partner
It has been a pleasure to have Rob at the helm of the Hampshire office, and we wish him all the very best for his retirement.
