The new mixed use self-storage facility has been developed at Gillette Corner on the site of the former Syon Gate Service Station, opposite the iconic Gillette Building.
The new building comprises 897 m2 of Class B1 office and 11,089 m2 of Class B8 storage spaces across 4-6 storeys and a lower ground floor level. The development includes associated parking, as well as landscaping designed to blend the building in with the local townscape.
Externally, the storage facility has been designed to integrate with nearby heritage buildings by including Art Deco features interpreted in a modern way. This ensures the building has some visual and historic merit and creates a sense of place.
The Brentford unit at Gillette Corner is one of two London-based Access Self Storage projects delivered in 2021. The other is located on Streatham High Road in South London.
Gyoury Self provided full structural and civil engineering services across the project.
