Built as a replacement dwelling for a private client, this modern new build residential property is constructed on an elevated site with far-reaching views of the South Downs National Park.  Designed with sustainability in mind, this contemporary home has four bedrooms, a study, workshop, open-plan living area, kitchen and swimming pool.

The Challenges

Gyoury Self provided all structural engineering design and detailing services for the building superstructure and substructure.  The hybrid structural design has a steel and concrete frame with load bearing elements on deep strip foundations.

The property has been engineered to a sustainable architectural design with ground source heat pumps and solar heating, thermal mass and a green roof. It meets the Code for Sustainable Homes level 3.
