We are delighted to announce that Richard Aston has been promoted to Partner at Gyoury Self Partnership LLP.
Richard has been with Gyoury Self since 2004 and currently leads the Design Team at our Fareham office in Hampshire. Having worked on a wide variety of projects for many different clients over the years, he is a seasoned professional with excellent engineering skills and experience under his belt.
Although much of his work involves managing projects and liaising with clients, he also remains involved in ‘hands-on’ design input and preparation of structural schemes and calculation packages.
Richard’s notable engineering design projects include the extensive Queen Mary’s Hospital scheme in Roehampton, which involved converting the site into a large residential development, and the Bio Sciences Building for the University of Brighton.
He is currently working on a number of engineering design projects, including a new build extension at the Graylingwell Chapel in Chichester, West Sussex and the new Hythe War Memorial Hospital near Southampton for the NHS.
Richard was already a well experienced engineer when he joined Gyoury Self. He started his career within the public sector, working within the engineering departments of two local authorities in the South of England. He went on to successfully gain his Master’s degree and fully chartered status as a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Richard’s combination of engineering experience and project management skills make him an excellent addition to the Gyoury Self partners team. Going forward, we have every confidence he will make a great contribution to the continued growth and development of the company. Rick Potterton, Managing Partner
