Construction of foundations for Gloucester City Football Club’s new stadium at Meadow Park is now well underway.
The new stadium has been commissioned by Gloucester City AFC to provide a permanent home for the ‘Tigers’, who have been homeless since their old ground was destroyed by the floods in 2007.
Gyoury Self is providing structural engineering services to Soldi Construction for the foundations of the new stadium, which will have two 350-seater stands, positioned either side of the existing changing rooms. We are also engineering internal alterations to existing buildings.
Externally the pile caps, ground beams and foundations have now been completed for the two ends behind the goals. Erection of the stands is due to start shortly.
The new pitch will be raised 3.5 metres from the old level of Meadow Park and will be 3G (Third Generation) synthetic turf to enable year-round training.
Gloucester City FC is confident of being back in their new stadium in time for the 2020-21 football season.
