Stone Balcony Restoration, Hove

We recently engineered a cantilever stone balcony restoration project at a historic Listed building in Brunswick Terrace, Hove.

The existing stone was heavily cracked and had to be replaced like-for-like with new Portland Stone. The original ironwork balustrades were removed and refurbished before being reinstalled. Additional waterproofing was also added beneath the balcony.

Gyoury Self provided an assessment of the existing structure and engineering input for the replacement of heavily cracked stonework. The project surveyor was MacConvilles and the building works were carried out by Deacons Building Services Ltd. Stone masonry work was undertaken by Stacy Gillingham.
