PROJECT: Royal Lancaster Hotel
LOCATION: London, UK
CONTRACTOR: S&T Interiors
PRINCIPLE ENGINEER: Morgan Tucker
Gyoury Self was contracted to provide connection design services as part of a phased £75 million refurbishment project at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
Work involved creating connection designs for a series of steel beams to replace the original reinforced concrete columns.
The connections were designed to enable the fixing of new steel work to the existing building.
Numerical modelling software, BIM and hand calculations were all utilised to produce a solution suitable for the project during ongoing redevelopment.
Gyoury Self also provided temporary works design for the provisional ‘luxury standard’ entrance required during Phase One of the works; which involved a redesign of the commanding entranceway leading to the new lobby area.
